Muhurtham Explorer
Compare local Panchangam factors and daylight intervals across dates and inspect a selected day. A sourced Griha Pravesham star list, Sunday/Tuesday exclusion and a daylight reference excluding Rahu Kalam are available. This limited explorer compares factors; it does not select an auspicious event time or give a full housewarming verdict.
Inputs and scope
- Event date and venue, including exact coordinates where known and the UTC offset that applies on that date.
- Optional birth date, time and historical birth UTC offset for personal Tara and Chandra counts.
- General planning and Griha Pravesham reference factors from named sources; ceremony-specific Muhurtham selection needs further rules and tests.
This explorer calculates local Panchangam changes and daily intervals for an event venue, with an optional seven-day comparison. Event time and birth details add star and sign factors. The Griha Pravesham option intersects one published star list with daylight outside Rahu Kalam and excludes Sunday and Tuesday; it does not check all housewarming rules. None of these outputs constitutes a complete auspicious Muhurtham. Exact location, timezone history and boundary cases need review.
Read the calculation methods and limitations before relying on a boundary-sensitive result.
Event details
Use the location and UTC offset that apply at the event venue on the chosen date. Exact coordinates give better local timing than a town centre.
Optional birth details
Birth date, time and historical UTC offset add personal Tara and Chandra counts when an event time is entered. These geocentric counts do not require birth coordinates.
Scope and privacy: Event details calculate the local timing and provisional Panchangam factors in your browser. Optional birth data adds personal star and sign counts; Griha Pravesham shows one sourced star list, Sunday/Tuesday exclusion, the event-time Tithi for review and a daylight interval outside Rahu Kalam, with other rules untested. Inputs are not submitted. Approximate sidereal transition times and regional Muhurtham rules need further validation; independently confirm consequential timings before relying on them.

Event date overview
Use the event location and date above to review daylight periods. This explorer does not select an auspicious time.
Sunrise and daily intervals
| Period | Day part | Starts | Ends | At event time |
|---|
Abhijit is the eighth of 15 equal daylight parts in Drik Panchang’s stated method. The displayed housewarming intervals omit Rahu Kalam using the eight-part daylight convention. Its source excludes Wednesday, marriage and Upanayana; the displayed interval does not override event-specific rules or decide suitability.
Sea-level sunrise and sunset, standard refraction, named-zone event offsets or a verified manual offset for this date. Confirm coordinates, terrain and time zone. These periods alone do not decide a Muhurtham.
Sunrise-to-sunrise Panchangam changes (provisional)
| Element | Name | From | Ends |
|---|
Moon-based names and transition times use the approximate V1 Lahiri model. Near a boundary, independently confirm the timing before relying on it. This is general planning, not a ceremony-specific Muhurtham.
Optional birth-star factors at event time
These are named traditional counts from the approximate V1 Moon position. Confirm birth time and both date-specific UTC offsets; a star or sign boundary may change the result. They do not decide the suitability of an event.
Date-range comparison
| Date | Sunrise | Tithi at sunrise | Nakshatra at sunrise | Nakshatra at event time | Tara at event time | Chandra at event time | Event star factor | Sunset | Rahu | Yama | Gulika | Abhijit reference | Details |
|---|
Sunrise Tithi/Nakshatra and the optional Nakshatra at the same entered local event time on each date use the approximate V1 Lahiri model. These snapshots are not the whole day: review the transitions for each date before relying on them, especially near a boundary. An event before sunrise belongs to the preceding sunrise-based Panchangam day even though the range row uses its civil date. The Griha Pravesham option excludes Sundays and Tuesdays in its weekday factor and checks the event-time star against Drik Panchang’s eight-star list; regional practice and other Panchangam, month and Lagna rules remain untested. The Abhijit reference is the eighth of 15 daylight parts; its source excludes Wednesday, marriage and Upanayana. For comparison only; the listed intervals do not rank dates or select an event Muhurtham. Tara and Chandra columns require a birth date, time and historical offset plus an event time, and their named categories do not decide suitability. In named-zone mode, each date and event instant uses its own historical offset, including daylight-saving changes. In manual mode, the entered UTC offset stays fixed across the range.
